Booking Entertainment is Helpful in Event Planning
When booking entertainment for your special event, corporate function, or gathering it is important not to get discouraged. Booking
entertainment can be a very tedious task. Especially when there are so many choices out there. It can be a trying experience to keep things
fresh when planning corporate events. The booking entertainment industry is so full of different avenues it can be difficult to narrow down
the search. It just makes sense to us to make it easier for you by providing quality information for you.

It is important when planning such events that you keep in mind that there is help out there waiting for you to take advantage of it. Most
people attempt what can sometimes feel like the impossible by trying to book through talent agencies and booking musicians on their own.
This can be extremely difficult and also costly. When booking through a booking entertainment mediate you can often book your
entertainment at discounted prices since they are able to book in bulk.

Looking to Book a Band?
Music can be a great source of entertainment. It can ease tensions and relax the atmosphere and just add that special touch. Often more than
not the more enjoyable places to go have some type of musical setting. That is why this can be a great source of corporate entertainment.

When booking musicians keep in mind that they can be very temperamental by nature. They are much more comfortable working with the
same people over and over than they are at dealing with someone for the first time. This again is why a booking entertainment mediate can
come in handy.

DJs or Live Music?
It is a debate whether live music can be as entertaining as a DJ. Some people would rather hear the original artist than nothing at all, while
others are just as happy to hear a certain popular song. If possible try to get feedback from your group ahead of time to see if you can get
the overall feel of your gathering. It is important when lining up your entertainment that you take into consideration the difference between
the two options.

If booking a band, you ultimately want them to have a genre of music that fits their overall style. It can be a very ugly situation if you book
a 70s band and ask them to play 50s style music. You also need to get information from any DJ that is booked as to what types of music
they have available. Most will provide a play list of some sort. There are also specialty DJs out there that specialize in certain eras.

Party Entertainment Should Be Upbeat and Lively
A great way to keep people entertained is to book a comedian. This is also a great start to a fun-filled evening. You could possibly start with
a comedian and then segue into live music or a DJ. Make sure when booking a comedian you keep in mind the style of humor that would go
over well with your crowd. It would be in extremely poor taste to book a comedian whose main content is political jabs when gathering a
political group of individuals. It is good to keep in mind when booking entertainment that most people enjoy trying to escape their every
day lives when being entertained.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you should keep your entertainment age appropriate. Things that entertain a teenager for instance can
really annoy a mid 50s crowd. Most of the time this can be accomplished easily. If you happen to have a crowd of mixed ages you will want
to find someone who is fun for all ages.

Talent Agencies Of The New Millennium
One way to look at today's booking agents is to call them the talent agencies of the new millennium. Years ago when you were interested in
hiring any type of talent to entertain your corporate party or special event you would look into hiring a talent agency. Talent agencies
would represent specific individuals and groups. The type of access you had to a variety of talent would be extremely limited. You would
have to contact a specific person in order to hire whatever talent you were interested in. Today it is a much more simply process thanks to
booking agents..

Let us say you were interested in having Cher perform at your corporate event but you contacted the talent agency that represented
Madonna. They would not be able to assist you because they only represent Cher. Now that there are booking agents available you do not
have such limited resources. If you contact a booking agent you will not be bound by whom they represent. They handle all aspects of the

Synopsis
Recently winning the award for New Country Star
"Female Vocalist for November 2006", Rebecca
Lindsey is becoming one of the most recognizable
figures in Country music. A trained singer/
songwriter since she was 10, Rebecca has
continually set the bar for excellence in performance
and song writing.
Rebecca's debut CD Headlights on the Highway is
scheduled for release in January 2007. Rebecca is
also an active member of BMI and the American
Federation of Musicians.
